Responsible Appliance Disposal
At Copper State Junk Removal & Hauling, we do more than haul away old appliances—we make sure they’re handled the right way.
Items like refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners often contain refrigerants (such as Freon) and other hazardous materials that require proper removal. Simply dumping them in a landfill isn’t just unsafe—it’s against the law. That’s why we follow EPA-approved guidelines to ensure every appliance is disposed of safely and responsibly throughout Northern Arizona.
Need help with more than removal? We also offer appliance cleanouts and professional disconnect services.
Fridges and freezers often contain chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) or hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs)—harmful gases that can damage the ozone layer if released. We partner with licensed facilities that safely recover and recycle these refrigerants before scrapping the appliance for metal recycling.
- Freon safely extracted
- Compressor fluids drained
- Metal and plastic components recycled
Refrigerators & Freezers
Most appliances are made up of recyclable materials like steel, aluminum, copper, and glass. We work with local recycling facilities to divert as much material from the landfill as possible.
- Scrap metal sorted and recycled
- Electronic parts properly handled or processed as e-waste
Appliance Recycling
Small window units and portable ACs also contain refrigerants and copper wiring that should not go to landfill.
- Units decommissioned by certified professionals
- Recyclable metals and plastics separated
Air Conditioners & Mini-Splits
If your appliance still works and is in good condition, we try to donate it to local nonprofits, shelters, or community members in need. We’re proud to support local reuse and help keep valuable items in circulation.
- Working appliances donated locally
- Supports nonprofits, families, and neighbors in need
Donation When Possible
A Quick Note on Freon
Due to state and federal regulations, appliances with hazardous materials must be disposed of through approved channels. That’s why we charge a small Freon recovery surcharge for refrigerators, freezers, and AC units—but it’s worth it for peace of mind.
We take all kinds of appliances
We treat every haul like it matters—because it does. From Chino Valley to Cottonwood, we’re committed to doing junk removal the right way, with honesty, responsibility, and care for the community we call home.
